Brave RAF airmen who fought and died during the Battle of Britain 76 years ago were remembered by RAF personnel, veterans, Air Cadets and the community on Sunday.
RAF Boulmer held a Service of Thanksgiving in St Michael’s Church, Alnwick. The service was attended by the Duke and Duchess of Northumberland, the civic head of Northumberland County Council, Coun Alan Sambrook, and civic dignitaries from the local area.
Afterwards, there was a parade through the town, led by the Band of the 5th Royal Regiment of Fusiliers. The Salute was taken by Station Commander, Group Captain Rich Jacob, with the Duke and Duchess joining him on the dais.
