Red Row's 4-1 victory opens up seven-point lead at top of table

Red Row took another step toward the division one title as they opened up a seven-point gap at the top of the table.

The first half was a close affair, with Paul Smith giving Red Row the lead before Niall Jones equalised for Lowick just before half-time.

During the second half, Lowick were enjoying the better of the play until they had a player dismissed after 70 minutes. The hosts then took full advantage to score three more before the final whistle, with Darren Smith, Luke Baston and Max Anderson all finding the back of the net.

Rothbury 8

Bamburgh Castle 1

Rothbury found their shooting boots to register their second win of the season and move off the foot of the table.

Three goals adrift at half-time, it was Bamburgh who pulled a goal back after 50 minutes through Johnny Johnson, but Rothbury then hit another five before the final whistle.

Chris Coe with three, Mitchell Ramsay with two and single strikes from Thomas Hammond, Greg Woodburn and Stuart Foreman accounted for Rothbury’s tally.

Tweedmouth Harrow 9

Alnmouth’s nightmare season continued as they lost heavily against their Berwick visitors .

Harrow started strongly and netted six without reply before half-time.

Things improved slightly after the break, but Harrow still netted three more before the final whistle.

Goal-scorers for the visitors were Martin Tait with four and Terry James with two, plus single strikes from Dale Reap, Kristian Neil and Jordan Richardson.

It was the visitors who got off to a flying start as they took a third-minute lead, but an Andy Patterson goal after six minutes put Spittal level.

Jamie Punton then added a second on 24 minutes to put the home club ahead and they still held the lead at half-time .

Ashington drew level at the start of the second half with a 46th minute goal, but it was the home club who finished strongly to take the points with further goals from Dan Dougal in the 61st and 84the minutes , a second from Jamie Punton on 74 minutes and a Rhys Bloomfield effort making up the final total.

Springhill 3

Highfields United 1

Springhill took the points from this local derby, but Highfields had a great chance to take the lead when they were awarded a first-half penalty. They missed the spot kick, however.

Colin Young then gave Springhill the lead, with Gary Wood adding a second before Grant Sharp pulled a goal back as half-time neared.

Play was even during the second half, but Springhill made sure of the win with a second goal from Young.

Wooler 5

Ashington Central 3

As the scoreline suggests, this was an action-packed game from start to finish, with Wooler making sure of the points in the final stages .

Wooler went ahead through a Connor Cowans goal, with Scott Neil equalising for the visitors. Josh Hall restored Wooler’s lead, but a Trevor Newman goal saw Ashington level before half-time .

In the second half, Kyle Jeffrey put Wooler back in front, and a Sam Cowans goal extended their advantage.

Mark Taylor then scored a third for the visitors before Alan Taylor added a fifth for the hosts to wrap things up.
