Signed by legendary actor Sir Michael Caine, a rare working copy of a script from iconic 1970s film Get Carter will be up for grabs later this month.
Movie-buffs and keen readers are in for a treat when the item goes on sale at the Alnwick Book Fair on Saturday, August 24.
The annual event will be staged in the town’s Northumberland Hall – for the third year running – and will feature more than 20 specialist dealers from around the country.
There are often maps and prints for sale, while thousands of collectable and rare books on all subjects, including children’s and local history, will be on offer.
But the highlight has to be the script, which is also signed by the film’s director Mike Hodges, producer Michael Klinger and others.
It is offered for sale at £POA by fair manager Anthony Smithson, of The Keel Row Bookshop, North Shields. Contact 0191 296 0664.
Mr Smithson said: “The script belonged to the film’s cameraman, Dusty Miller.
“It includes a typed letter signed to Miller from Michael Klinger dated August 28, 1970, on Michael Caine is CARTER stationery (envelope and letter head), thanking him for his work on the film.
“There is also a 10-page document detailing locations for various scenes in the film.”
