THE inquest into the death of gunman Raoul Moat starts today at Newcastle Crown Court.
Raoul Moat died on the banks of the River Coquet in Rothbury after a seven-hour stand off with police in July last year.
A jury and coroner sitting at the court will hear evidence from police, friends, family, pathologists and Rothbury residents over the coming week.
The case is expected to last four weeks.
