RAF Boulmer is at the centre of a huge training operation that will mean increased military activity around the base in the next couple of weeks.
Exercise Joint Warrior is a tri-service and multinational exercise being conducted in the UK from Monday. It will provide high quality co-ordinated training at a tactical level for all three UK Armed Services and numerous units from invited allied nations.
Countries taking part in the exercise are the UK, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Estonia, France, Germany, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Spain, Sweden and USA. Up to 3,500 personnel will participate, with the aim of practising a range of air, surface, sub-surface, sea control and maritime security roles.
There will be increased military activity in the local area as the base supports both land and maritime units in the exercise.
The exercise provides opportunities to reinforce co-operation between Army, Navy and Air Force as they practice techniques, tactics and procedures and conduct large-scale joint operations in a complex and demanding operational environment.
