A quirky home interiors and gift shop, with a boutique hair salon, has opened in Alnwick.
Husband and wife team Barry and Dawn Eastham have launched The Bonny Hoose Company, on Market Street.
The new venue also features a unisex hairdressing service, known as the Bonny Loft Salon, which is run by Dawn and Jacqui Rutherford, who both have many years’ experience in the industry.
The shop, which opened earlier this month, stocks a selection of unique and rustic pieces and it is going down well with customers.
Barry and Dawn, both from the town, have been buoyed by the positive start and hope to build on the success.
Dawn said: “We couldn’t have wished for a better start or more support for the launch of our shop.
“For Barry and myself, this is a totally new venture and change of direction.
“We had been in property, buying houses, doing them up ourselves and then selling them on, but we decided it was time for a change.
“When we were doing up the houses, we really enjoyed looking for different pieces of homeware, so we thought we would launch The Bonny Hoose Company and bring something unique to Alnwick.
“The feedback has been great and people are saying that the shop looks beautiful and it is just what Alnwick needs.
“At The Bonny Hoose Company, we pride ourself on sourcing unique pieces of furniture and homeware.”
The shop is certainly attracting positive attention, with five-star reviews left on its Facebook page.
Among them, Rachel Campbell praised the ‘beautiful shabby chic gifts’ on offer, while Michelle Jeffrey Mason wrote: ‘Fabulous shop and boutique, well worth a look, some fabulous quirky gifts to be had.’
Sarah Hindhaugh added: ‘What a beautiful little boutique! Stunning shop with gorgeous goodies for my home.’
To celebrate the opening, The Bonny Hoose Company is set to hold a special launch event. Details have not yet been finalised but keep checking The Bonny Hoose Company Facebook page for information.
An appointment for the hairdressing salon is not always necessary, but is recommended.
