The Ugly Duckling, performed by just four actors from NTC, is set to enthral audiences at Etal Village Hall on Tuesday.

An enchanting reworking of Hans Christian Andersen’s classic story The Ugly Duckling, by acclaimed children’s writer Neil Duffield, the show is NTC’s festive production.

Gillian Hambleton, NTC director, said: “Our Christmas show is always very popular and this year is no different.

“This is a funny and heart-warming story about a young duckling and her attempt to discover her real place in the icy winter world despite the meddling of many different characters along the way.

“It begins with a rock’n’roll rooster and ends with a shimmering swan and the bit in between is packed with songs, dances, jokes and a few heart -wrenching moments along the way.

“Neil Duffield’s adaptation of this Hans Christian Andersen classic is a perfect feel good tale for the festive season and we’ve had great fun bringing it to life.”

The performance starts at 7pm.

Doors open at 6.30pm.

Tickets are on sale at Etal Post Office or by calling 01890 820777.

The production runs until the end of January with the last show at Shilbottle Community Centre on Saturday, January 30.
