Pupils lead the way for Jam Jar cash

A school in Alnwick is marching forward with the Jam Jar Army, raising cash through collecting in jars and the sale of special campaign wristbands.

Lindisfarne Middle School in Alnwick is the first to return the money they have raised as we aim to raise £10,000 for the Alnwick Playhouse Youth Theatre.

They have donated £124.78 to the cause this week, taking our total to £ £5,737.78.

Other schools have also been collecting for the Jam Jar Army, so the total could see a decent boost in the next few weeks as the jars, clinking with coins, come in.

We still want other businesses, organisations, families and individuals to hold collections.

Get in touch with us – on 01665 602234 or ben.oconnell@northeast-press.co.uk – if you want to get involved or have any ideas for fund-raising.

We have jam jars and stickers for decorating jars to collect at the Northumberland Gazette office.

Full jars can be dropped off at the Playhouse or the Gazette office on Bondgate Without, or the Lions bookshop on Bondgate Within.
