A public meeting is being held on Monday to gauge residents’ views about a plan at Longhoughton Quarry.

The application, by Northumberland Estates, is to renew and relocate the recycled aggregate processing facility.

The meeting will take place at The Beacon, Portal Place, Longhoughton, from 6pm to 7.15pm. The aim will be to formulate a community response to the proposal, which also seeks permission to change planning conditions to allow for 100 HGV movements each day, except Sundays.

The Estates says the facility would be enhanced to better serve the demand for recycling operations within the area.

Comments/objections at the meeting will be submitted by next Thursday. Visit Northumberland County Council’s website for details about the scheme.
