The Dirty Bottles Taproom and Smokehouse has been named as one of six national finalists in the Best Freehouse category of the Great British Pub Awards 2016.

The ceremony will take place on Wednesday, October 5, at the London Hilton on Park Lane, where the national champions in each of the 16 categories will be announced.

The overall champion – to be crowned Great British Pub of the Year 2016 – will also be unveiled, having been selected from all the category winners.

In the build-up to the awards ceremony, the shortlisted finalists will receive a visit by a member of an expert judging team.

Reaching the final is a major achievement for the team at The Bottles, which was reopened last year by businessman Mark Jones, following a major redevelopment. The Narrowgate pub recently opened a roof-top terrace.
