Proposed changes to Belford parish could see reduction in number of parish councillors
The number of parish councillors representing Belford could be cut by a quarter.
Belford Parish Council is currently made up of three wards – Belford, Warenton and Middleton – represented by 12 councillors.
However, councillors have backed a move which would abolish the different wards and bring the number of members down to nine.
They were told the move would reduce the cost of elections, which cost up to £5,000 per ward.
