Promoting better lives lands prize for forum

Northumberland Echo, a forum consisting of representatives from the Northstar Centre and Border Links in Berwick and the Alnwick-based Pottergate Centre, was awarded The Simon Bradford Inspirational Award at the Learning Disability Partnership Board (LDPB) AGM in May.

The award recognises the forum’s work in promoting better lives for people with learning disabilities in the county.

The DPB brings together representatives to share information and discuss local issues affecting the lives of people with learning disabilities.

Members have previously influenced a range of developments, including a charter and standards linked to Northumberland County Council’s quality assurance monitoring.
