A report to last Tuesday’s meeting of the county council’s planning and performance committee provided an update on the authority’s affordable homes schemes.
At Dandsfield Square, in Amble, work started in March 2014. Although there were delays, as a result of Northern Powergrid’s long lead-in time, the first 12 handovers were achieved in February this year, followed by another 24 in March. The remaining 12 flats were completed in June.
The scheme for 20 homes at Fairfield View, Shilbottle, was halted when Turney Wilde went into administration in June. A new contractor, Surgo, is now signed up and completion is due in January 2016.
The 16 homes planned at Embleton Quarry are due to be finished by December this year.
