The children of Thropton Village First School took part in a creative writing competition, organised by Vision for Education.

A total of five schools in the area took part, leading to more than 200 entries.

Thropton pupil Talitha Sharrocks, eight, won first prize – an Amazon Kindle, while school-mate Hannah Ridley, also eight, was a runner-up, receiving an Amazon voucher.

Vision for Education is one of the fastest growing education recruitment agencies in the UK, specialising in temporary and permanent jobs for teachers, cover supervisors, teaching assistants, sen and nursery nurses. Sara Hughes, primary education consultant, said: “We are proud to be able to support the community and schools through a variety of initiatives we offer. I was delighted to be able to work with Thropton Village First School on this literacy project and celebrate some of the fantastically talented children in the school.”
