Pop-rock trio set to headline free festival

A Brit Award -winning band will be headlining a free summer musical festival in Northumberland.

Scouting for Girls will play at this year’s Northumberland Live event in Blyth on Saturday, June 25.

The pop-rock trio – made up of Roy Stride, Greg Churchouse and Pete Ellard – have notched up four UK top 20 albums, including their chart-topping self-titled debut in 2007.

Its follow-up, 2010’s Everybody Wants To Be on TV, was a No 2.

This year’s showcase, at the town beach, is being supported by Blyth Town Council and Northumberland County Council.

Northumberland Live starts at 11am and runs through until 9pm.
