Health is a major election issue.
Health is a major election issue.

It's a flagship policy of the Liberal Democrats ahead of next week's General Election - but do you support it?

The Lib Dems have pledged to raise income tax by 1p in the pound in a bid to raise an estimated £6billion a year for the NHS. Vote in our poll and let us know if you would be willing to pay the extra.

A survey has shown that 79% of those questioned in the North East for a survey, carried out in partnership with Google Surveys, would be prepared to pay the extra 1p in the pound.

This percentage is compared to 11.4% of people in the North East who said they would not pay it, and 9.5% who said they did not know.

The General Election will take place next week on Thursday, June 8.
