Whitehouse Farm Centre bids for festive cabins and snack hut

A visitor attraction near Morpeth has applied for planning approval in relation to two facilities.

Whitehouse Farm Centre recently submitted a retrospective bid for three festive cabins and reindeer pen on land west of North Whitehouse Cottages.

The design and access statement for the proposal includes the following: “The experience will predominantly be used to host Christmas themed events such as meeting Santa and his reindeer.

“Building massing is kept to a minimum, with structures located between existing trees. Two of the cabins are the same size and the third is larger to facilitate enhanced internal accessibility.

“The cabins have a simple timber horizontal boarding finished aesthetic with felt shingle roofs.

“The reindeer pen elevations are clad in horizontal, naturally finished timber and the roof is a profiled metal sheeting as used on many of the buildings on the site.”

The centre has also submitted a retrospective application for a snack hut in the same area.
