Last year saw the creation of a new play area at Druridge incorporating a variety of equipment suitable for toddlers to young teens as well as young people with disabilities.

Coun Glen Sanderson, cabinet member for environment and local services at Northumberland County Council, said: “We are continuing to make significant investment in our country parks and are committed to ensuring they remain an attractive place to visit and spend time in.

“This work will see major improvements to the visitor centre, which will be bigger and offer better facilities, in particular the cafe area which will be extended and opened out to provide views across Ladyburn Lake.

“While the centre will be closed for a few weeks we’ve ensured toilets will still be available during these works.”
