New appointments made to cabinet at Northumberland County Council following resignations

A number of new appointments have been made to Northumberland County Council’s decision-making cabinet.

The appointments are: Cllr Glen Sanderson - deputy leader along with his existing portfolio (Environment and Local Services); Cllr Jeff Watson - Adult Health and Wellbeing; and Cllr Guy Renner-Thompson - Children and Young People.

It follows the chief executive Daljit Lally being placed on ‘a period of extended leave’, with one of her last actions being to level serious allegations at the council leader, Peter Jackson.
