A planning application for four one-and-a-half storey ‘bungalows’ on land south of Dunstan Hall, near Embleton, had received 12 objections.
A report on behalf of applicant C Benjamin argued the proposal for a high-quality housing development on a contained site on the north side of Dunstan should be granted permission.
‘The site is not isolated, benefits from existing vehicular access and is a sustainable location for new housing,’ stated youngsRPS.
However, concerns about access and traffic were raised by Craster Parish Council and the Northumberland Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty Partnership had concerns about its visual impact.
Senior planning officer James Bellis concluded: ‘It is considered that the proposal would form an incursion into the open countryside. Further to this, the proposal would impact negatively upon the
character of the settlement of Dunstan and its landscape.’
