She said a meeting has been organised with Age UK Northumberland with a view to seeing how the charity could support local residents.

A meeting had also been held with North East Youth and it was felt it may be able to support youth provision in the parish. Membership costs £75 a year.

A new boiler has recently been installed at a cost of over £1,500 after the last one broke just before Christmas.

Coun Blythe: “It was really unfortunate because we had things organised over the Christmas period.”
