Craster volunteers receive recognition for their work in the community

Volunteers have been recognised for their contributions to Craster village life.

Margaret Brooks and Elizabeth Pearson were invited to a celebration at County Hall.

County councillor Wendy Pattison was asked to nominate two volunteers from her Longhoughton ward who deserved recognition. She said: “I decided to ask two people who have shown great commitment towards the community and the village of Craster over many years .”

Elizabeth has been a member of Craster Parish Council for over 30 years, a longstanding member of the Embleton Joint Burial Committee and a former member of the Craster Community Trust. She is also a strong supporter of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI).

Margaret is also a member of Craster Parish Council, Embleton Parochial Church Council, Embleton Joint Burial Committee and spends a lot of time looking after the lovely garden at Craster Church.

Guests from all over Northumberland attended.
