Beadnell receives windfall from housing developer

A housing developer has donated £4,500 to Beadnell Parish Council for the benefit of the local community.

The donation is from Countylife Homes which is building four homes next to the council-owned playground at Meadow Lane.

Parish council chair Alison Nation said: “At very short notice we were contacted by Countylife Homes before they they started work on the old school development.

“They did a risk assessment and needed a buffer zone with the playground.

“They asked for use of this land for a 15-month period and said they would be happy to contribute to a community project.

“We settled on a flat £4,500, payable in advance, and we were all very happy when it was done and dusted.”
