A series of career and volunteering engagement events which were held by Northumbria Police have been hailed a ‘resounding success’.
The sessions took place at a number of venues in Alnwick and Berwick in June and July.
They were designed to give communities an opportunity to find out more about policing in rural areas.
The events also provided people with the chance to think about joining the Force as an officer and to raise awareness of the career development opportunities in rural areas.
Reflecting on the sessions, a Northumbria Police spokesman said: “The events were a resounding success with more than 250 people attending.
“It was really positive that so many people in north Northumberland wanted to come along and engage with their local officers.”
The sessions were held at Alnwick’s Willowburn Sports and Leisure Centre and baptist church, as well as Berwick’s Morrisons and Swan Centre.
