Police have been cracking down on motoring offences – and warned the operation will continue.
As part of Operation Avocado, officers have been targeting criminals on the A1068, south of Amble.
It has focused on those who may be responsible for serious motoring offences and acquisitive crime.
Inspector Paul Truscott, of Alnwick Neighbourhood Policing Team, which covers Amble, has said the operation is on-going and warned that more vehicles will be stopped and checked across the whole sector.
He said: “We will continue to work with our partners to find those responsible of driving vehicles illegally or committing criminal offences and ensure they are brought to justice.
“By showing a large visible presence on our roads this will send a message to offenders that they will be targeted.
“I want to also reassure the community that these matters are taken seriously.”
Officers have been working with Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs and Vehicle and Operator Services Agency (VOSA) as part of Operation Avocado.
