Today, police, along with officers from the Marine Unit, are searching Newcastle Quayside after a possible reported sighting of Sally in the area at around 6.10am on December 26. They will be speaking with residents, local businesses and appealing for further information to try to find her.

Chief Inspector Stephen Readdie of Northern Area Command said: "We continue to appeal to anyone who may have seen Sally to contact police. We have a dedicated incident room set up with a team of officers reviewing CCTV and following up on possible sightings.

"I have extra officers in the Quayside area checking CCTV to try to trace Sally's movements and would ask that any businesses located on Newcastle Quayside with CCTV capability review their footage from December 26 from 6am and contact police if there is any sightings of Mrs Allan."

"This is an incredibly distressing time for Sally's family who are desperate for her to come home. If anyone has information to help we would urge them to contact police straight away."

Yesterday, her heartbroken family said they are worried about her and begged her to come home. A Search 4 Sally Facebook group has been set up on social-networking site Facebook and her son Clive has made a special video appealing for the public's help to find her. There was also a strong turn out at a group search on Monday morning and award-winning North East comedian Sarah Millican has supported the Search 4 Sally appeal by retweeting a message and missing poster about the search. As part of the search to find her, a missing poster had been made and people are being encouraged to put up the flyer - which features her photograph - to spread the word as much as possible.

Anyone with information about where she may be should contact Northumbria Police on 101 quoting reference 0258 26/12/15.
