Police search Alnwick property after man dies of suspected drug overdose

A Northumbria Police spokesperson said: “Shortly after 8pm on Friday (April 16) we were alerted by hospital staff to a man who was in critical care following a suspected drug overdose.

“Sadly over the weekend the man died in hospital.

“An investigation has been launched into the circumstances surrounding the man’s death, with enquiries carried out at an address in the York Crescent area of Alnwick.

“Inquiries are ongoing.”
