Police increase patrols after damage at school

Police have stepped-up patrols around a Northumberland village school, after property was damaged and suspicions of youths gathering in the area after dark.

The incident happened overnight on Monday, October 31, at Dr Thomlinson C of E Middle School, in Rothbury, when items in the school grounds were damaged.

Police are appealing for information about the incident and have said that any child who is found in the area after dark will be spoken to in front of their parents.

The warning was made in the Coquetdale Community Message for the month of October. The damage at the school was one of 15 crimes in the Coquetdale area to be reported to police from Saturday, October 1, to Monday, October 31. Other incidents included three people being bitten by dogs in separate attacks.
