Police believe missing Albert Gray fell into sea at Amble pier as they scale back search for OAP

Police have scaled back their search for missing 87-year-old Albert Gray as enquiries lead them to believe he may have fallen into the sea at Amble.

Officers have now scaled back the search for missing North Tyneside man, Albert Gray, 87 who was last seen by his family on Sunday, February 2 after leaving his home on Weetslade Court, Wideopen.

Police were informed that a man, believed to be Albert, was spotted getting off a bus in Amble at around 1pm on Monday, February 3, walking towards the Marina.

Following extensive enquiries, unfortunately it is now believed that Albert fell unto the sea at Amble on the same day of his disappearance.

Specialist officers continue to support the family at this difficult time, they have asked for their privacy to be respected.

Police would like to thank everyone who shared their appeal, reported information to officers and help in their search for Albert.
