Police appeal after bike crash leaves rider in ‘serious’ condition

Police are appealing for information after a motorbike crash left a rider with serious injuries.

The crash happened just before 11.10am, today , on a road between the A1068 Red Row and West Chevington, 500m from the A1068 junction.

The white Ducati motorbike was travelling west when, for reasons yet to be established, it left the road and collided with a fence.

The rider, a 25-year-old man, was airlifted to the RVI for treatment. His condition is described as serious.

The road was closed for three hours to allow for examination of the scene and vehicle recovery.

Investigations into the crash are continuing and police are keen to hear from any witnesses, including the rider of a blue motorbike that was seen in the vicinity at the time.
