THE man at the helm of Alnwick Playhouse for the last four years will be drawing his final curtain today.
Vince Hope started at the theatre as project manager in 2007 when the previous manager went on maternity leave.
He became theatre manager eight months later and has taken the place from strength to strength ever since creating programmes of events which appealed to all ages and tastes.
“I have really enjoyed my time here,” he said.
“It has been amazing. The public have been so supportive since the moment I arrived. I was keen to reach out and contact the people and be here to provide a service for community and they seem to have been supportive of that.
“I came here having done project management for specific arts projects all over the area and this has just been a really great career move for me. I hope to go on to other challenges related to entertainment and the arts and I’m still finalising what I am going to do.”
He added that not only has the Playhouse been good for him but his four young children have also been involved with its youth theatre.
“I would like to express my sincere gratitude to my wonderful staff, the support of the Trustees of the Playhouse, The Friends organisation and the public who have come and enjoyed the events,” he said.
New manager Joanna Potts will take over as theatre manager on Monday.
