PLASTICS: Reorganise the recycling
In view of the current focus upon the threat from plastic that is blighting the world and its oceans, I look forward to Northumberland County Council reorganising its recycling facilities, and thus being able to amend its recycling policy.
We need significant change as currently, according to the council website, I can put plastic bottles in my recycling bin, but not “plastic bags, carrier bags, cling film, plant pots, yoghurt pots, food trays, margarine cartons or bubble wrap”.
Action is needed now to give the environment a chance.
