Plastic pick-up in Wooler

Riverside Leisure Park in Wooler has signed up for the Daily Mail's Great Plastic Pick Up on Saturday from 11am to 2pm.

The route will take them along the edge of Wooler Water and towards a children’s skate park.

Verdant Leisure’s eight holiday parks are taking part in the event.

Employees, guests and holiday home owners at Berwickshire-based Pease Bay Leisure Park will help to tidy Pease Bay beach. A short distance from Pease Bay, the team at Scoutscroft Leisure Park and Coldingham Bay Leisure Park will sweep and clean along Coldingham Bay beach.

In County Durham, Heather View Leisure Park will be setting off from the park’s Durham Dales base searching the river side and local lanes for plastic.

At Dunbar-based, Thurston Manor Leisure Park staff will encourage all the family to get involved in Great Plastic Pick Up, with every child participating receiving a certificate and the family that collects the most plastic will win a £30 food voucher to be spent in the park’s restaurant. Also taking take part in the clean-up will be Verdant Leisure’s friendly mascots Vinnie and Violet.

And at Viewfield Manor Leisure Park, employees, guests and holiday home owners will visit the local beach at Irvine to pick up plastics.
