A planning application for a new fish and chip shop and takeaway in the centre of Alnwick has been submitted to the county council.
Applicant Geoff Jobson is bidding for a change of use from retail to hot-food takeaway at the former Greenwoods store on Paikes Lane.
In February this year, Mr Jobson told the Gazette that he is confident that his bid to transform the empty shop into the town’s second sit-in fish-and-chip shop will get the green light.
The town currently has three chippies, but the well-established Carlo’s is the only one in the town centre. The other two are Victoria House and Barresdale Triple Diner, which are both further afield.
Consultation on the plans runs until Thursday, June 25, with a target determination date of Monday, July 27.
