Planned roadworks on A1 in Northumberland this week

The Highways Agency is planning the following roadworks on the A1 in Northumberland over the next week, from Monday, to Sunday, March 29.

Alnwick: Alnwick South Bridge refurbishment phase two. There will be a full closure southbound with all traffic running in contra-flow on the northbound carriageway 24 hours a day. The A1068 below the bridge will operate under traffic signal control. The works will take place until August 2015.

Berwick: Sign work. There will be traffic signals and lane closures in operation north and southbound between 8pm and 6am. The work will take place from Monday to Thursday.

Smeafield, Belford: Drainage work. There will be traffic signals in operation north and southbound between 8am and 6pm. The work will take place until Tuesday, March 31.

Brownieside: Sign work. There will be traffic signals in operation north and southbound between 7am and 7pm. The work will take place on Monday.

Detchant: Improvement work. There will be convoy working in operation north and southbound between 8pm and 6am. The work will take place from Monday to Wednesday.

Stannington: Footpath Crossing work. There will be lane closures in place north and southbound between 8pm and 6am. The work will take place until Tuesday, March 31.

Seaton Burn to Morpeth: Inspections. There will be lane closures north and southbound between 9.30am and 3.30pm. The work will take place from Monday to Wednesday.

Wandylaw: Sign work. There will be traffic signals in operation north and southbound between 7am and 7pm. The work will take place on Tuesday.

Warreners House: Investigation work. There will be lane closures north and southbound between 8pm and 6am. The work will take place from Friday to Wednesday, April 1.
