The Highways Agency is planning the following roadworks during next week (from Sunday, March 8, to Sunday, March 15) on the A1 in Northumberland.
A1 Alnwick, Northumberland: Alnwick South Bridge refurbishment phase 2. Full closure southbound with all traffic running in contra-flow on the northbound carriageway 24 hours a day. The A1068 below the bridge will operate under traffic signal control. The works will take place until August 2015.
A1 Morpeth, Northumberland: Horticultural work. There will be a lane closure north and southbound between 8am and 5pm. The works will take place from March 9 to March 13.
A1 Seaton Burn Interchange, Cramlington, Northumberland: Junction improvement work. Work to improve the interchange will be ongoing until mid-March. Phases of night-time lane closures and some carriageway closures will be in place between 8pm and 6am. A 50mph speed restriction will be in place throughout the works.
A1 Berwick, Northumberland: Sign work. There will be traffic signals and lane closures in operation north and southbound between 8pm and 6am. The work will take place from March 9 to March 19.
A1 Belford, Northumberland: Sign work. There will be traffic signals in operation north and southbound between 7am and 7pm. The works will take place on March 10.
A1 Fenwick, Northumberland: Sign work. There will be traffic signals in operation north and southbound between 7am and 7pm. The works will take place on March 11 and March 12.
