A HUGE number of fantastic images of Northumberland have been submitted by budding photographers through a photo competition run through the LOVE Northumberland campaign.
Launched on Valentine’s Day, the challenge to find the amateur snapper who has captured their favourite view of Northumberland has brought in over 240 photographs from more than 80 people who live around the area.
With amazing pictures taken at locations all over Northumberland, judges now have the task of short-listing and choosing a winner.
The winning entry will be announced within the next two weeks and the winning photographer will receive £50 worth of garden centre vouchers.
Shortlisted entries will feature in an exhibition in one of the county’s libraries, and in a gallery on the council’s facebook page.
Coun Isabel Hunter, executive member responsible for infrastructure and the environment at Northumberland County Council, said: “The standard of photographs entered in the competition has been extremely high. It is going to be a very difficult job to find an overall winner.
“We are pleased that we will be able to feature the winner and other short-listed entries in an exhibition and online, so that they can be widely seen and enjoyed. We will also be using some to promote our beautiful county as part of the LOVE Northumberland campaign.”
