Leo said: “We spoke to so many wonderful people, hearing personal and emotional accounts of what people are going through, seeing so many smiling faces and truly humbled by some beautiful compliments we’ve received.

"Thank you to every single one of you that has donated to the cause. We have raised an incredible amount.”

It is the second time the family have staged the event, which involves several days of preparation and a four-figure outlay.

Some 500 sweetie bags were also distributed.
