A STARS Northumberland project has been supporting vulnerable young people at risk of being NEET (not in education, employment or training).

Since October 2023, it has supported more than 15 young people. Within that cohort, more intensive support has been provided to seven young people.

The young people have been involved in training to help them prepare for progression – including interview techniques, CV preparation and research.

One of the participants, who has gained a part-time job at Quayside Chippy in Amble, said: “Liam and Dan helped me so much to prepare my application form and practise my interview.

“Thank you to STARS and the Community Fund for helping me.”

The team members have worked on self esteem and confidence, as well as the practical skills.
