Police appeal to trace missing Northumberland woman

Police searching for a missing Northumberland woman have appealed to the public for help.

Katherine Patterson, 19, was last seen in the Walkergate area of Newcastle on the morning of Monday, September 9.

Officers have been trying to trace her over the last 48 hours, but are now growing increasingly concerned for her welfare and have now requested the help of the public.

Katherine, of Whitley Chapel, Hexham, is described as white, with mousey blonde hair and hazel eyes. She was last seen wearing a black puffa-style jacket with black skinny jeans and carrying a white linen bag with ‘Lancaster University’ written on it.

Officers believe she was in the Albert Dock area of Liverpool this afternoon, Wednesday, September 11.

Chief Inspector Ronald Charlton, of Northumbria Police, said: “We are very concerned about Katherine’s welfare and she has now been missing for more than 48 hours.

“Officers have been carrying out a number of enquiries in a bid to locate her safe and well, and we are working closely with her family.

“They are understandably worried about her, and we have already received a number of calls from the public who believe they may have seen Katherine, or someone matching her description.

“If you think you know Katherine’s whereabouts, please pick up the phone and give us a call. I would also appeal directly to Katherine to get in touch with officers if she does read this appeal.”
