Selina Heathcote, originally from Warkworth, and London-based art director Caroline Glover are working on the 40 days, 40 heroes project which celebrates the dedication and commitment of those in the frontline during the current Covid-19 pandemic.
Originating in Spain, the project is part of a global Instagram scheme to honour front-line workers and everyday heroes in the fight against coronavirus through illustration.

Each illustration is up for auction with all proceeds going to the NHS Charities COVID-19 Appeal.
The 40 days, 40 heroes idea is derived from the Spanish project.
When the lockdown in Spain was announced, it was rumoured that it would last for 40 days.

Now living in Barcelona, Selina, who is part of a major advertising agency’s creative team, said: “We’ve been amazed by the quality of the illustrations we’ve received, by both well-known and undiscovered artists.
“This is a great opportunity to pick up a wonderful piece of original art for the home and help the NHS at the same time.
“We’re hoping to raise as much money as possible so we would love people to follow and share the page far and wide.”
