We asked Gazette readers to tell us about someone who has helped them – whether it’s a neighbour, friend or someone else they know – during the difficult times.

Many of you got in touch via our Northumberland Gazette Facebook page, sending thank you messages to those who have delivered essential items, sent positive messages or gone out of their way to help out.

Here are some of your messages of thanks:

Andrea Field: “My friend Kate Sims has been doing my weekly shop every Saturday for 10 weeks. She has also offered moral support and gave me the courage to brave the supermarket on my own early last Saturday.”

Lindsay Johnstone: “Karen and Phil from The Star Inn in Harbottle have been amazing. They expanded their small shop and now have everything you need to get you through. Can't thank them enough.”

Lorraine Anne Hudson: “Chelsea Wilson, she has baked and dropped off goodies (very nice baked goodies might I add) regularly and her and her dad checked on me when my dad died.”
