Northumberland hotel has been crowned the UK’s favourite stately home wedding venue

Northumberland hotel Matfen Hall has been named the favourite stately home wedding venue at the UK Wedding Awards.

The hotel beat off competition from Blenheim Palace, Hampton Court House, Thornton Manor Estate and others in a public vote.

Matfen Hall celebrated 20 years of weddings last year and more than 2,000 couples have said ‘I do’ in the venue’s grand hall.

The UK Wedding Awards took place at The Baltimore Mayfair on Thursday, February 13, and staff from the hotel were able to collect the prize at the ceremony.

“Our team are dedicated to and passionate about the role in a couple’s special day,” continued Victoria, who got married to now husband Callum at Matfen Hall at the end of last year.

“We take pride in arranging and helping them create a wedding day which is perfect for them and their guests.”
