New homes earmarked for Blyth

Castles & Coasts Housing Association (CCHA) have been given approval by Northumberland County Council to transform an area of abandoned, privately-owned land.

The scheme will create affordable rented properties in Newsham, with Imperator Developments building the housing scheme on behalf of CCHA.

Jo Gooding, CCHA’s Development Manager, said: “There are lots of exciting new developments proposed for Blyth, in what is already a great place to live and work.

"This high quality affordable housing scheme will complement recent economic investment in the town and provide construction jobs to support local economic recovery.

“CCHA is delighted that Northumberland County Council has recognised how vital this project is for the ongoing regeneration of the area and the need to boost the supply of new affordable homes.”

Jo added: “This 100 per cent affordable rented scheme will provide an attractive mix of two and three-bedroom houses and bungalows, and local people in housing need will be given priority when they are available.

“We can’t wait to get started and, with the support of Homes England, work will start very soon

"We look forward to welcoming our first residents into this new community later this year.”
