Late night openings, live music and new cocktail menu additions at The Market Place in Morpeth

An eco-friendly refillery and cafe in Morpeth town centre now has a cafe bar element.

The Market Place, which was opened by Imogen Roth three years ago, is now open 6pm to 11pm on Fridays and Saturdays and from 7.30pm on these days, it will have bands and solo artists playing both original music and cover songs.

It has also teamed up with Olive & Co to provide pizzas from 6pm to 8.45pm on these days and to go with alcohol now being served there seven days a week, a new cocktail menu has been launched.

Imogen said: “I’ve always wanted to be progressive and adding the cafe bar element, which started earlier this month, has been a natural step for us.

“Our location in the centre of Morpeth has given us the opportunity to provide a consistent live music offering that we hope will be popular, along with the pizzas and new drinks menu. They’ve gone down really well so far.”

She added: “Now that we’ve been open for three years, I feel that we’ve got our own stamp in Morpeth.

“We welcome new cafe and other food additions to the town as we believe we’re helping each other to make Morpeth a better place.”

Before moving to the Market Place with her refillery and cafe in 2022, Imogen ran the former Healthy Prep Kitchen in Newgate Street and when the Covid-19 pandemic rendered it non-viable, she turned it into a successful zero waste shop called Eco Morpeth.
