Incredible footage shows dolphins splashing around off the Northumberland coast

The amazing footage shows bottlenose dolphins jumping in and out of the North Sea off the coast of Berwick-Upon-Tweed in Northumberland.

We all know how stunning the Northumberland coast is – but it’s made even more breathtaking when you spot several dolphins having fun alongside a boat just a few hundred metres from the shore.

Bottlenose dolphins tend to prefer warm to temperate waters, which makes spotting them in the chilly North Sea a fairly rare but beautiful sight, though sightings are becoming increasingly more common.

While out on sea trials aboard the ‘Border Rose’, crewman Chick Purves captured the video on Tuesday, July 14.

It was later posted on the Berwick Boat Trips Facebook page where it has been viewed by over 4,200 people.
