How to recycle your Christmas tree and where to take it in Northumberland

Everyone has their own rules on when the Christmas tree should be taken down. If you have a real tree this year here’s how you can recycle it in Northumberland.

Real Christmas trees can be recycled into good quality compost, soil conditioner and wood chippings.

You can take them to your local Household Waste Recovery Centre (HWRC) during normal site opening times – from 8am to 6pm.

Alternatively, Northumberland County Council has set up collection points across the county.
