Fire fighters and RSPCA rescue cat from roof in Blyth

Shortly after 9.15am on Monday, January 20, Northumberland Fire and Rescue service were called to reports of a black and white cat who was sadly believed to have died on a roof in William Street, Blyth.

Fire fighters were sent out to the scene to help the RSPCA to rescue the cat.

A spokesperson for Northumberland Fire and Rescue service said crews “were called to assist RSPCA to a believed deceased cat on a roof in the Blyth area.”

Thankfully, when white watch crews managed to complete the rescue, the cat was alive but cold and is now safe with its owner.

The spokesperson added: “A positive outcome to the incident as the cat has now been reunited with its owner after a cold night on the tiles.”
