Emergency services called to Holy Island causeway after car flips over on New Year's Day
Emergency services were called to Holy Island in the early hours of New Year's Day after a car flipped over in the middle of the causeway.
The North East Ambulance Service were called to the scene at 12.16am but the person involved did not require hospital treatment.
The HM Coastguard were also called to assist the ambulance crew at 12.30am.
An ambulance service spokeswoman said: “We were called at 12.16am to a road traffic collision on Holy Island where a car had rolled over on the middle of the cause way.
“One ambulance was in attendance and the patient was discharged at the scene.”
