Together with the headteacher, they led a School Diversity Week assembly that celebrated diversity and inclusion. Older students also participated by visiting younger classes to conduct diversity story times, fostering understanding and acceptance from an early age.

Throughout the week, each year group engaged in activities across the curriculum themed around diversity – including artwork and writing tasks inspired by texts promoting inclusivity.

Laura Mackay, chief executive of Just Like Us, said: “We are delighted to award Darras Hall Primary School with the School Diversity Week Primary award. Their innovative approach and dedicated efforts in promoting LGBT+ inclusion have made a significant impact within their school community.
